As we settle into the final days of 2022, I want to extend my gratitude to you for choosing to listen and learn with all of us here at SGO. Over the past year, I've personally seen the pendulum swing back and forth with regard to appetite, interest, and energy for DEI work. Leaning into our mission of abolishing inequity in the workplace can seem all-encompassing and overwhelming. However, this is critical work; now is the time to push through the fatigue and the roadblocks to make sure that we don't lose momentum. As the SGO team wraps up 2022, I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you a few highlights from the past 12 months:
We returned to the office this year, delivering 10 workshops in-person (plus many, many more virtually)
We relaunched our community as "Rise Together"(open to all!) and expanded our public programming offerings with a return to our monthly free webinars on a whole host of DEI-related topics, along with two cohorts of our Leading DEI Conversations program
My prediction for 2023 is that we'll see a renewal of energy for DEI work in the workplace and beyond. Let's take this transition time to rest and reflect, so we can come back energized next year. Thank you for being part of our journey.
With gratitude,
-Felicia

End-of-Year Survey
We're conducting a very quick end-of-year survey. I know, I know-- everyone's asking you for your thoughts, and you probably have survey fatigue right now. However, as I think about what our new programming will look like for next year, I’d really appreciate hearing from you.The survey should take around 5 minutes to complete, and as a token of our appreciation for completing the survey, you’ll be entered into a $100 gift card raffle.
How to Start a Successful Employee Resource Group Webinar
Our final webinar of the year features SGO Facilitator Kia Rivera. She'll be discussing what an Employee Resource Group ('ERG') is, why they're so important, and best practices. There can be a lot to consider when setting up and running an ERG, especially if you are new to this work. This webinar will give you some ideas for how to make sure your ERG thrives!Sign up today!

"Lilly Singh's 20-minute TED talk, 'A Seat at the Table' Isn't the Solution for Gender Equity, is incisive, funny, and does an incredible job of driving the point home that women need more than a seat at the table. She does a great job of explaining the issue and coming up with practical solutions that leaders can use in the workplace and the world!"
